🌿 Alphabet of Healing: Reflect, Release, Rise

By Lakesha Mai-Ling Allen

There are moments in life that crack us open — when silence weighs heavy, pain settles deep, and the people we once leaned on feel out of reach. I created Alphabet of Healing: Reflect, Release, Rise for those very moments. Not just as a workbook, but as a companion. A space to feel, reflect, and rebuild — piece by piece.

This project comes from my own lived experiences with grief, trauma, loss, and transformation. It’s informed by my work in healing spaces, my education, and my deep belief that healing is not only possible — it’s powerful.

💫 What Is the Alphabet of Healing?

This isn’t your typical self-help journal. It’s a trauma-informed, emotionally grounded, creatively designed healing journey from A to Z. Each letter represents a part of the process — from the early stages of struggle and survival to the awakening of truth, all the way to inner restoration and resilience.

Every letter includes:

🔸 A reflective story prompt (“There was a time…” style) — drawn from real life and shared to guide your own honesty.
🔸 Two trauma-informed reflection questions — to help you gently explore your own pain and patterns.
🔸 Two healing exercises — simple, grounding practices that invite action, not just insight.
🔸 One affirmation — to plant seeds of strength and self-compassion.
🔸 One creative art prompt — a chance to express what words sometimes cannot.
🔸 One grounding or breathwork tool — to support your nervous system and emotional regulation.
🔸 ✍️ Two journaling pages per letter — because your story matters and your words are sacred.

This workbook supports you in navigating emotions like anger, shame, guilt, grief, fear, love, and courage — through storytelling, creativity, and reflection.

🫶 Who It’s For

This healing journal is for anyone who has ever felt broken, lost, silenced, or unsure of how to move forward. It’s for:

  • Survivors of trauma, abuse, neglect, or abandonment

  • Those healing from grief, heartbreak, or betrayal

  • Young people figuring themselves out

  • Mothers, fathers, daughters, sons — reclaiming identity and wholeness

  • Peer mentors, community builders, and facilitators

  • Anyone ready to unlearn the lies and embrace new truths

Whether you’re just starting your healing journey or have been walking it for years, Alphabet of Healing offers you a place to land — and then rise.

🌀 Why I Created This

I’ve spent a lifetime healing from deep wounds — family loss, generational trauma, and the isolation that can come with surviving. I’m a mother, an advocate, a community voice, and a student of life. And while I’ve had access to support, I know what it feels like to go without it.

I created this book because I believe everyone deserves a tool that feels safe, beautiful, and validating. I wanted to design something people could hold in their hands and say, “This gets me.”

🪞 Why It Matters Now

We are living in a time where emotional overwhelm is real — and mental health support often feels out of reach. So many of us are carrying burdens we don’t talk about.

Alphabet of Healing is an invitation to slow down and listen to your inner voice.
To let your pain speak — and then help it shift.
To feel less alone in the places that still feel raw.
To know that you can forgive yourself.
You can begin again.

✨ A Ritual for Completion

The final section of the book offers:

  • A grounding practice to help you reflect and re-center

  • A closing affirmation ritual to remind you of your strength

  • Thoughtful prompts about what healing might look like moving forward

  • And space to name your next steps in your own words

Because healing doesn’t end with the last page — it continues with how you choose to live.

🗣️ What’s Next?

I’d love for you to experience this resource and share it with others. It’s available now in digital format, and I’ll be releasing more healing tools in the future — inspired by your feedback.

Let me know what resonates. What helps. What you’d love to see more of.

If you’re a teacher, peer mentor, facilitator, or part of a healing circle, this book can be used in groups as well as individually. It’s been designed with flexibility and inclusivity in mind.
